About three years ago, a guild called Louvre was formed in an MMO called Dofus. This guild was created for the purpose of bringing together artists, writers, musicians, and other creative people. It was a place for them to meet each other, share ideas, and identify themselves to the gaming community. This idea of a specialty guild was an uncommon one in Dofus- most people created guilds with doctrines of being the highest level, helping their members level themselves and professions, and having the strongest force in the game. A guild focused on artists and less on competition was novel, and guild members were often faced with praise for the unique outlook of the guild, or condemned for its non-competitive nature.
Either way, the Louvras were a group of good-natured people. As time passed, the leader and founder of the guild, MissMarie, became a moderator for the game and faced a lot of stress from her new position, and felt she could no longer lead the Louvras. She moved to a game called Furcadia, creating a branch of Louvre for the artistic dreamweavers. She handed her torch down to one of the officers, Thomus, a relatively low-level healer with no experience in guild-leading. He lead the guild with pride, inviting several deemed 'artsy types' and close friends. As new guild positions were implemented into the game, a summoner named RynElectra, who was a close friend of Thom, was awarded the title of Recruiting Officer. She excelled at this position, drawing many new faces into the guild.
With their crests held high (as they are displayed above the character's name in that game), Louvras had no problems helping each other with dungeons and occupations, talking and singing in guild chat, or attempting suicidal missions just for laughs (and sometimes, the suicidal endeavors turned into stories of epic feats and surprised even the most optimistic of members). They were a quiet and small guild, but never unfriendly.
Wanting to try other MMOs, several members of Louvre (many who were close friends of Ryn and Thom) moved to a game called Perfect World. Characters were made and leveled, and as they progressed through the game, the former Louvras decided a new guild was in order. Ryn, the driving force in creating the new guild, became the leader. It was decided that the guild would not be exclusive to creative types, but would be open to anyone who seemed they'd fit the spirit of the guild. With this new law of recruitment, a new moniker was needed. Thomus and another member, Lorrel, suggested Anima[/i], the Latin word for 'spirit' and 'soul.' Now christened, the guild became relatively known by the small population of the game as several of its members could be seen out and about the largest town, Ancient Dragon City.
Unfortunately, the administrators of the server on which the Animas were playing were not the best- the server was down frequently, and they were less than capable of handling some of the complaints of the players. This frustrated the Animas, who still enjoyed the game, and many quit.
Another game was sought out, and the Animas discovered Dream Of Mirror Online. The game's job system was appealing, and the Animas set into action when it was discovered that they could rebuild their guild. With RynElectra at the helm again, the guild was born. The name was kept in place, as well as some of the principles that had been brought from both Louvre and the original Anima.
